Complaint filed against CM over violation of poll code
Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress filed a complaint to the Election Commission (EC) pointing out that the chief minister’s remark on the polling day was a violation of the poll code. Kannur DCC president Satheeshan Pacheni lodged the complaint to Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena.
According to the complaint, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s remark after casting vote that Lord Ayyappa and his Godly companions are with the government is a violation of the poll code.
This statement provokes the religious sentiments and it violates the model code of conduct, it is noted in the complaint.
As this remark is a serious violation of poll code as per the third paragraph of the first portion of the poll code, action should be taken against this, it is demanded in the complaint.
