Complaint against KT Jaleel's Ph.D: Governor orders follow up action
Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has directed to take follow up action over the complaint regarding Higher Education Minister KT Jaleel’s Ph.D.
The governor has handed over the complaint to the Kerala University Vice-Chancellor. The complaint stated that there wasn’t any contribution from Jaleel in his thesis.
Jaleel secured a Ph.D. from Kerala University in 2006. The thesis was prepared on the contribution of Ali Musaliyar and Variyankunnathu Kunjahammad Haji in the Malabar riot. However, it was alleged in the complaint that Jaleel did not make any contributions of his own in the thesis. THe complaint was also pointed out that there were many grammatical errors in the thesis.
The complaint was submitted by the ‘Save University’ campaign committee. They came to notice the minister’s thesis recently when there was a controversy about the Malabar riot. The complaint was filed after they examined the thesis with the help of the RTI Act and an expert committee studied it.
