Kochi: Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju stated that the information over the cancellation of the passport of Vijay Babu, the actor-director who is accused of sexually assaulting an actress, has been passed to the respective embassies through the Ministry of External Affairs. Wherever he is, Vijay Babu could be deported to India as his passport is impounded, said the commissioner.

It has been alleged that Vijay Babu has fled from UAE to another country. The commissioner informed that the investigation team cannot reveal to which nation the accused has moved. The details of repealing his passport have been sent to the respective nation, the commissioner added.

Vijay Babu had replied to the notice of the passport officer that he is on a business tour and he would return to Kerala on May 24. Commissioner has warned that a red corner notice will be issued if Vijay Baby refuses to surrender on the above-mentioned date.

In an email Vijay Babu sent to the police earlier, he had explained that he would arrive in Kerala on May 19. The passport has been revoked when he failed to reach on this date. The action has been taken on the basis of the request forwarded by the Kochi City Police.
