Thiruvananthapuram: A state-level commission, constituted by the Kerala Government to study and resolve the issues of various communities, is gearing up to conduct sittings across districts for hearing grievances directly from the economically backward classes among the forward communities.
Kerala State Commission for Economically Backward Classes among Forward Communities, chaired by Justice CN Ramachandran Nair, will conduct a sitting on Thursday at Ramanilayam in Thrissur.
Several religious organisations and individuals had already lodged complaints with the commission. The current sitting has been organised considering the practical difficulty in summoning all the complainants to the commission’s headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
The sitting, led by the commission chairman and members G Rathi Kumar and Mani Vithayathal, will also provide an opportunity for the public to lodge their complaints directly.
As many as 164 organisations, which were included in the unreserved categories, fall under the ambit of the commission. The dates of sitting in other districts will be decided later.
