College students to be vaccinated soon; classes for medical students to resume on July 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Tuesday that the government is considering providing Covid vaccine to college students at the earliest.

Those who belong to the age group of 18-23 years will be added in a special category to vaccinate them. Classes will be resumed as early as possible by completing vaccination, he added.

The classes for medical students will start from July 1 as all of them were vaccinated already. Vaccination of school teachers will be prioritised, the CM said.

The vaccination of children will be initiated according to its availability. New stock of Covaxin has been delivered, the chief minister made it clear.
