College student killed in car accident in Muvattupuzha; 5 injured


Kochi: A college student was killed after a car fell into a pit on the side of Muvattpuzha-Thodupuzha road on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ayush Gopi, a Puthenkurish native and a second-year diploma student at Al-Azhar College in Muvattupuzha. His five friends who were in the car suffered injuries in the accident.

The accident took place around 9 am on Tuesday. Friends who accompanied him in the car were shifted to the hospital.

Ashiq Ahmed, and Vishnu NR, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, were moved to a hospital in Kolenchery. Arun Dinesh, Faslu Rahman, and Stephin Wilson are admitted to Nirmala hospital in Muvattupuzha.

It is learnt that the car lost control and fell into a pit near the road. The car was badly damaged in the accident. The injured were trapped inside the vehicle. Fire Force personnel from Muvattupuzha reached the spot for the rescue operations.
