Thrissur: Vechur cows and Malabari goats from the farm of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Mannuthy will be reared at Raj Bhavan, the Governor’s official residence. Experts including assistant professor from the college have accompanied the domestic animals.
Two vechur cows that can be milked have already reached the Governor’s residence. A team of three including an assistant professor and a senior farm supervisor accompanied the animals to Raj Bhavan.
The university authorities have directed that same number of experts should escort the Malabari goats too. An assistant professor will be specifically sent to give directions about sheltering of goats. The officials from Raj Bhavan have asked for 10 goats.
The goats that will cost Rs 16,000 each and Vechur cows cost Rs 75,000 each. While transporting the cows, 20 hens along were also taken to the Raj Bhavan. Ten kilograms of poultry feed for hens will be taken from the farm when goats are delivered.
