Kollam: A college girl committed suicide by hanging herself inside the hostel room at Polayathode here on Monday. The deceased was identified as Kadakkal Chithara native Srilakshmi (19).
However, the reason behind the suicide is unknown. The girl was found dead at SNV Sadanam, a hostel of an air hostess training centre at Polayathode.
She was found hanging by the hostel staff when they checked the room as she didn’t open the room on Monday. She ended her life by hanging on the ceiling fan. Upon the information, police reached the spot and completed inquest. The body has been taken for post-mortem.
Kollam East police have begun an investigation into the suicide. Body will be handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
