Pathanamthitta: Pathanamthitta district collector Divya S Iyer surprised all by dancing with a group of students while attending a function in connection with the MG University youth festival here on Thursday. Without any hesitation, she joined the students to groove to the song in front of the main stage.

The collector danced with the students who took part in the flash mob that was organised as a part of the youth festival. The students are from Catholicate college in Pathanamthitta.

‘I went there to inaugurate the ‘Deepakazhcha’ in connection with the youth festival. My whole family was with me. I was enjoying the students’ dance with my baby. They came and asked me if I could do a step or two and I immediately accepted their invitation,’ Divya said.

‘Since I enjoy dancing and singing very much, they did not have to persuade me much. I thought I’d just do a few steps, but their energy was immense. That energy is the whole essence of flash mobs. I saw many versions of the video after reaching home last night. I’m not on Facebook, so I didn’t know that the video had gone viral,’ she added.
