Collector deputes teachers for supervision at ration shops in Kannur
Kannur: District Collector TV Subhash has issued an order deputing teachers for supervision at ration shops. The action was taken as per the government order to engage teachers in COVID-19 preventive efforts in the state.
High School and Higher Secondary teachers will be deployed at ration shops in hotspots. They are assigned to supervise the supply of essential food materials to the deserving ration card holders.
In the order, the Collector directed the deputy education director to deploy teachers residing in the areas which are declared as hotspots to each ration shop there. In the hotspot regions, ration kits should be delivered at the doorstep of the card holder in the presence of the teachers.
It is also directed that only ward members and Kudumbashree members should be assigned to distribute the kits.
The teachers must confirm that the distributors are not receiving any commission from the ration card holders after delivering the kit. The Taluk supply officer is also directed to ensure the same.
The Collector forwarded the order to municipalities and panchayat deputy director. In the order, the Collector has directed the officials to deploy the teachers for duty at the ration shops on a rotation basis.
