Cockpit of ill-fated Air India Express flight lifted from Karipur airport
Karipur: The front portion of the ill-fated Air India Express flight was lifted from Karipur airport. The cockpit of the aircraft was lifted on to a lorry using a crane. It will be taken to a special centre in Koottalungal. The operation was carried out under the presence of Air India officials from Mumbai.
The team of experts investigating the crash inspected the bottom of the cockpit. The lorry could not leave the spot due to lack of final clearance.
A concrete platform was prepared at the special centre and the route has also been cleared to take the aircraft’s parts and debris.
The Dubai-Kozhikode Air India Express skidded off the runway and crashed at Karipur on August 7.
