Cobra spotted at a quarantine centre in Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: A cobra was spotted at a government quarantine centre in Vellanad.
The snake was found in the kitchen of Sarabahi Engineering college women’s hostel on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm.
The men’s hostel of the college is being converted into a COVID first line treatment centre. In connection with this, volunteers under the leadership of panchayat committee chairman, Sreekandan, were cleaning the hostel and its premises.
They spotted the snake when they entered the kitchen of the quarantine centre to eat food. One of the volunteers, Rajeev, caught the snake and handed it over to forest department authorities. Panchayat president Vellanad Sasi said that the first line treatment centre will be inaugurated on Wednesday at 10 am.
