CM was informed regarding Sabarimala visit: Trupti Desai
Kochi: Gender rights activist Trupti Desai said that she had informed in advance the chief minister about her visit to Sabarimala. When the police officers requested her to cooperate with them she replied that they are already cooperating.
Trupti Desai and team arrived at Nedumbassery airport on Tuesday morning to go to Sabarimala. However, the police made it clear that they cannot provide protection. Following this, Trupti asked the police authorities to give in writing that they cannot provide protection and stated that only then they would return. The police sought legal advice regarding giving her a written statement.
The state attorney informed the police that there is nothing wrong in giving her a statement in this regard. As soon as the State Police Chief issues an order, Kochi City Police will give a written statement to Trupti Desai stating that they cannot grant protection. It is learnt that Trupti is likely to approach the Supreme Court with the written statement from police.
