Kozhikode: BJP state president K Surendran raised a sharp criticism against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the cabinet decision to withdraw the general consent to CBI. He alleged that CM has taken the move to protect himself from the probe.
“The CM has come under the scanner after probe into cases including gold smuggling. Names of people who received a share of the swindled money are being unveiled. Amidst this, the government has decided to ban CBI,” said Surendran while addressing the media here on Wednesday.
“Don’t think that CBI will leave the state after interrupting the probe. The central investigation agencies will continue the probe until the truth comes to light,” Surendran warned the state government.
Mentioning Kerala’s approach towards the arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami, Surendran noted that Kerala is selective in staging protests.
“Kerala remains silent over Arnab Goswami’s arrest. Other states will not respond to the issue in this way," said Surendran.
