CM tries to divert attention from tree felling controversy: VD Satheesan
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is trying to divert attention from the tree felling controversy by engaging in a verbal spat with KPCC Chief K Sudhakaran.
These arguments will not hide tree felling, he pointed out.
Attacking the CM, the opposition leader condemned that unnecessary subjects are being discussed to divert public attention from the tree felling controversy.
“The Chief Minister has given false statements while addressing the media. Sudhakaran has also given a fit reply to him. A weekly published fake statements in the name of Sudhakaran. Before the controversy, Sudhakaran informed me that he has filed a complaint with the editor of the weekly. It is an unnecessary controversy. I think there is no need to bother about it, said Satheesan.
Raising a sharp criticism against the CM, Satheesan added that Pinarayi Vijayan has been misusing the press meet that held to explain the COVID situation in the state.
“The Chief Minister issued the statements without giving any respect to the post served by him.
Public watch the CM’s press meet to know about the relaxations and benefits provided by the government. But the CM misused it,” criticised the opposition leader.
He declared that he doesn’t think Sudhakaran triggered the controversy. If Chief Minister raises more allegations, Sudhakaran should decide whether he has to react or not, Satheesan added.
