Thiruvananthapuram: Pinarayi Vijayan had taken 19 foreign trips after assuming the office of the Chief Minister. It is revealed that the government had spent Rs 32,58,185 on his five foreign trips.
According to the official data, out of the 19 trips, 15 were for official purposes. He took three trips for medical care while one was personal.
The data was revealed in reply to the question raised by MLA Sajeev Joseph in the assembly here on Tuesday.
As per the sources, Rs 32.58 lakh was spent on his official trips to UAE in 2016, USA in 2018, Japan in 2019 and two trips to USA in 2022 for medical treatment. Expenditure on the other 14 trips is not revealed yet.
It is learnt that USA and UAE topped the list of CM’s trips. Bahrain, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, South Korea, Japan and Norway are the other places visited by him.
