CM shouldn't have misinterpreted statement of NSS: Sukumaran Nair
Thiruvananthapuram: NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair stated that the chief minister's statement is not true. The CM should not have tried to misinterpret my statement and develop enmity towards NSS and its leaders, Sukumaran Nair said in a press release reacting to the press conference held by the chief minister.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's statement that Sukumaran Nair tried to spread the message that their followers should vote against LDF, was wrong. This can be understood from the live telecast of the event, he added.
In the press release, Sukumaran stated that he said the public would vote for protecting secularism, democracy, social justice and belief. The protest of the believers is continuing and nobody initiated any action to end their protest. The people want a change of rule and let things happen according to their wish. This was exactly what I said then, he pointed out.
NSS has never opposed the LDF government except for their stand in protecting religious belief. The 10 percent reservation for forward communities was implemented for not only Nair community, but over 160 communities. It is yet to be implemented completely, Sukumaran Nair pointed out.
NSS will continue its stand in the matter of belief. No matter which front rules the state, NSS will continue expressing its opinion as it has the right to do so, NSS general secretary made it clear.
