Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has set a time limit of 2 weeks for COVID resistance. In the COVID review meeting held on Tuesday, he directed to fix a target for the field officials in all districts for this purpose.

As part of the move, the police was handed over the duty of preparing contact list of the COVID patients. They are also directed to take strict action against those who violate home-quarantine and social distancing protocols. The chief secretary issued an order to start the procedures for this under the leadership of the state police chief.

The Disaster Management Authority has been entrusted with the duty of appointing senior police officials for this after discussing with the district police chiefs. The district collectors also are directed to strengthen the resistance activities by holding daily meetings with district medical officers and district police chiefs.
