CM’s role in appointment row should also be probed: Chennithala
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the nepotism controversy does not die down with the resignation of E P Jayarajan and that the Chief Minister’s role in the scandalous appointments should also be investigated.
In a Facebook post, Chennithala said the people will not believe the arguments that the top commander (Chief Minister) of the cabinet is unaware of the actions of the second-in-command (E P Jayarajan). Therefore, the role of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should also be probed, he said.
A lot of people who are relatives of party leaders have been appointed in key government and PSU posts and to say that these were made without the knowledge of the Chief Minister is difficult to believe, he wrote in the post.
Even CPI Assistant Secretary Prakash Babu had pointed out that the LDF, just before the government formation, had made it mandatory to make appointments only with the knowledge of the CM.
