CM’s first visit to Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple
Guruvayur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan paid a visit to the Guruvayur temple for the first time in his life. He took a glance at the sreekovil of the Guruvayur temple and made enquiries about the daily routines of the temple. After laying the foundation stone of a police station close by, he reached the temple premises.
After the ceremony, the chief minister participated at a function at Melpathur auditorium adjacent to the temple. He was received by renowned elephants like Guruvayoor Padmanaban, Valiya Kesavan and Indra Simhan. The chief minister reached the temple while the temple priests were performing ''Udaya Samasthana Puja”. Devaswom minister Kadakampalli Surendran and Guruvayur Devaswom Board Chairman K. B. Mohandas also accompanied the CM to the shrine.
K B Mohandas invited the CM to the shrine at first. Delighted on seeing the spectacular lights from the sanctum sanctorum, the chief minister asked ‘’is that the abode of Sri krishna?’’ The Chief Minister said that such temples are very rare in the state and it is because of the strong emotional attachment of the people towards the shrine that his government is committed to provide high security to the temple.
