CM reaches Aanachal; to visit Pettimudy along with Governor
Idukki: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reached the landslide-hit area at Pettimudy in Idukki on Thursday morning. The chief minister reached the place in the private helicopter of an Aanachal resort owner.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Revenue Minister, DGP, chief secretary and others are also accompanying the chief minister. Minister M M Mani and other senior leaders from the district welcomed the chief minister and his team.
The chief minister who reached Aanachal will go straight to Pettimudy and will participate in a high-level meeting to be held at Tea County Resort later.
Earlier, Chief Minister and Governor had made a visit to Karipur flight crash site. Allegations were raised that they avoided the landslide site. The Chief Minister stated that he postponed his visit to Pettimudy due to bad weather conditions.
The government had announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for dependents of people who died in the landslide.
