Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan continues to stay tight-lipped over LDF losing the by-election in Thrikkakara. He refused to respond about the election loss during a press conference in Kannur. Meanwhile, senior CPM leaders S Ramachandra Pillai and Thomas Isaac stated that there is no need for CM to respond to the questions when the CPM party secretary has already disclosed the party's view on the matter.

Pinarayi Vijayan is always careful how he responds to media in the past. He often agrees to meet the press only if the matter is pertaining to state government and its affairs. On other issues, CM always favours using social media platforms to disclose his stand. However, Pinarayi Vijayan is yet to share his response on the Thrikkakara by-election.

S Ramachandra Pillai told the media that the party secretariat involving Chief Minister had evaluated the election result. Following this, the CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has responded to the media. Therefore, there is no need for CM to share his view on the matter, he added. SRP said that LDF tried to reduce the vote share of UDF in Thrikkakara. We failed to reduce their vote share in the constituency. We expected a few more votes. The votes of the BJP and Twenty-20 favoured UDF, he added.

Meantime, Thomas Isaac said that the party would examine the results and take action accordingly. He also refused the need for CM to respond to the election loss.
