"My mother is the biggest influence in my life. She had to bear all responsibilities of the family after my father fell ill and died early. She lost 11 of her 14 children and I was the youngest of all. She managed to get me education despite all odds. When teachers asked to let me study till I fail, she supported me.
I read out books for my mother and that's how reading became my habit and it helped me in political education. The inner strength she poured on me was the basis of my political career. This special day for mother gives great relief for all those who go through ordeals around us.
When the world is going through a severe crisis, we have to fight with extraordinary power. As long as we have our mothers with us, we need not search for best examples of sacrifices and courage. I gratefully remember my mother on this Mother's Day. I thank all mothers too. By upholding the motherly values like sacrifice, mercy and bravery, let us go ahead together to survive this time."
