Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed Kerala Congress (B) leader and MLA KB Ganesh Kumar at a meeting of the Left Democratic Front on Monday. He told Ganesh that he must not present his dissent with an intention to create headlines.
Ganesh was not present at the meeting.
The actor-turned politician has been in the news for the past few weeks for his critical take on the government. The latest episode was when he ‘requested the government in the name of all the LDF MLAs’ to withdraw the additional cess on fuel prices announced in the budget. He said if the government is planning to withdraw it, the decision must not be seen as a result of pressure from the opposition, which has resorted to violent protests.

Earlier, Ganesh had slammed the ministers and also said that nothing was happening on the ground and the regime was only making announcements at an LDF meeting ahead of the budget session of the Assembly.
At Monday's meeting, the chief minister said development activities in the Pathanapuram constituency, represented by Ganesh, were being carried out using the money of the government.
Ganesh, a former minister, is likely to take up the transportation portfolio in the Pinarayi Vijayan cabinet by the end of this year as per the arrangement made after the 2021 elections within the LDF.
