Kochi: Kerala Gold Smuggling Case accused Swapna Suresh claimed that there is a reason behind Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's silence on the Brahmapuram fire accident.

Swapna alleged that Vijayan was aware of the role played by M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to Kerala CM, over issuing "mobilization advance" to the contract company involved in waste treatment in the plant.

"12 days of silence by the Hon'ble CM, thanks to the power above that he finally decided to utter," she wrote in a Facebook post, a day after Vijayan stated that he would issue a statement on Wednesday.

She pointed out that Kerala CM refrained from replying to queries raised in the Kerala Assembly because his right-hand man Sivasankar is in the hospital.

She also asked the Kerala CM to hand over "mobilization advance" to the people of Kochi and those who doused the fire.
