Thiruvananthapuram: Following the debacle in the LSG polls, UDF has come out sharply against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the LDF government.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the CM and LDF were trying to create religious intolerance and communal tension to aid their political interests.

They have taken up a false campaign that UDF has become insignificant. Their aim is to grow BJP. This tactic has been used since the Sabarimala protests started. The CM and LDF are trying to make BJP the main opposition.

The LSG polls have proved that BJP will not make gains in Kerala. The BJP’s plans of taking power with the help of the central government has failed. The saffron party could only win a few pockets. Chennithala claimed that UDF, especially Kerala Congress Joseph group was able to maintain its influence in central Kerala.

Chennithala admitted that there were shortcomings from UDF. They will be reviewed and resolved. The UDF had limitations in the backdrop of the pandemic and as we were the Opposition. The LSG polls did not reflect Kerala’s political situation.

Chennithala stated that the CM’s Facebook post against the KPCC president showed Pinarayi Vijayan’s low standard. The Muslim League does not intervene in the internal matters of any other party, he added.
