CM issues veiled warning to Ebrahim Kunju over Palarivattom flyover scam
Pala: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan made a veiled warning to former PWD minister V. K. Ebrahim Kunju over the Palarivattom flyover scam. He was addressing an election campaign rally in Pala.
“Today, the story of a person has unfolded. He will suffer for his deeds. If not righteous, he will have to eat government food,” CM said hinting at Ebrahim Kunju and the possible jail term.
“I have only one thing to tell those who are prone to corruption. If you are leading a virtuous good life, you can remain at home. If not, strict action will have to be faced”.
Government is not ready to construct any ‘Panchavadippalam’. No one should think otherwise. There will be no compromise on corruption, he further added.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Ebrahim Kunju will be arrested soon. The statement of T. O. Sooraj, who was the PWD Principal Secretary during the construction of the flyover, against Ebrahim Kunju will lead to the action. The vigilance probe team found out that Ebrahim Kunju had seen the files signed by Sooraj when he was the minister.
It is learnt that the vigilance has received some crucial evidence in the case. The decision regarding the arrest will be taken within two days, before the Pala bypoll.
