Kochi: Ending the long wait and traffic disruptions in the city, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Vyttila and Kundannur flyovers on Saturday. Vyttila flyover was opened at 9.30 am and Kundannur flyover was opened at 11 am. The chief minister inaugurated the flyovers via online.
The CM said during the inauguration of Vyttila flyover that he is proud of being able to complete a project that was stopped long ago. The flyovers will play a key role in solving the traffic blocks in the city and ensuring development of the national highway. The government could complete the project very fast despite many crises and it is a proud achievement, he added.
PWD minister G Sudhakaran presided over the function and finance minister Dr T M Thomas Isaac was the chief guest at the function. PWD national highway wing informed that the time of opening the flyovers was decided on the basis of completing the technical procedures.
Minister G Sudhakaran said ahead of the inauguration that it is a happy moment and he thanked everyone who cooperated with the project. It was the effort of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan that helped complete the project fast and for a lower expense than the estimate, the minister added.
