CM healthy, cabinet meeting to be held soon: Jayarajan
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has gone to US for medical check-up and he is completely healthy. Every day he contacts us, said EP Jayarajan, minister for industries and sports. This is the first official announcement made by the government on the CM’s treatment abroad.
"The cabinet meet will be held soon even if the return of the CM gets delayed. The media doesn’t have to worry. If there is an emergency situation to hold a cabinet meet, then it will be held," Jayarajan said.
The opposition had alleged that the inability to hold a cabinet meet was due to the objection from senior ministers. Reacting to this, Jayarajan responded that all these allegations were raised long time back and now there is no need to raise it, the minister said.
"The government is functioning smoothly. Everything is going normally. Those who want to mock can do that. The cabinet meet was planned on Wednesday. Since the ministers were away for fund collection, the meeting didn’t happen," he said.
To a question whether there would be a cabinet meeting on September 19, he responded that he hasn’t planned any meeting on that particular day.
