Closing of bars, Bevco outlets can adversely affect the state: Kadakampally Surendran


The tourism minister said that health workers were concerned about whether this situation can lead to a new social problem.

Thiruvanathapuram: Minister Kadakampally Surendran expressed his concern over whether the closing of bars and beverages outlets would create a new crisis in the state.

He asked whether the unavailability of liquor would create an even bigger crisis than COVID-19 in the state. He also added that he became aware of this during the review meeting held on Thursday morning.



The tourism minister said that health workers were concerned about whether this situation can lead to a new social problem. He shared his concern while speaking to the media.

He also said that so far four people have been shifted to de-addiction centres in the state.
