Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister V Sivankutty informed that the SCERT has been entrusted to formulate indices to classify schools under grading system. The minister was addressing a meeting with the teachers’ unions.

Training for teachers will be launched during summer holidays, activities of PTA will be coordinated and attempts to dispense salaries for pre-primary teachers are under consideration, said the minister.

The union of teachers, AHSTA, demanded to scrap the Khader committee report and revoke the proposal of increasing the number of evaluation papers. The unions put forward that the principal should be left out from teaching and include the higher secondary teachers’ unions in the curriculum committee.

The Minister instructed officials of the public education department of the secretariat to settle the files before April 30. He directed to submit the files in a time bound manner.

Recognition to appointments to aided schools will be dispensed without any delay, added the minister. He also recommended to conduct a file adalat in the principal secretary level by coordinating with the officials in the public education directorate.
