Shahsin and Rahul Gandhi
Thrissur: Shahasin, a fifth standard student, met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra here on Sunday. The boy met the leader at Tirur and handed over his piggy bank as donation to the Yatra.
Interestingly, Shahsin was saving money for purchasing a sports cycle. But when Rahul Gandhi reached Thrissur, he decided to donate his seven-month-long savings to his favourite leader.
The innocent boy took his plastic money box and the key to the foot march venue and handed it to Rahul Gandhi. Impressed with the boy’s act, Rahul gifted him chocolate and advised him to study well.
Shahasin, son of Anthikkad native Shanavas, had tried to meet Rahul Gandhi when his foot march reached Thrissur on Saturday but could not meet him.
Later, he set off to meet the Congress leader with his savings again and successfully handed over the money.
