Clashes at Kattayikkonam: Police tried to impress BJP, alleges Kadakampally
Thiruvananthapuram: Minister Kadakampally Surendran and local CPM leaders alleged that the police acted in an unfair manner in Kattayikkonam where clashes erupted between CPM and BJP workers. The minister raised serious allegation against the police.
The minister alleged that the police were trying to impress the BJP or the central observer. Instead of taking action against those who created ruckus, the police attacked the locals. BJP had already planned to unleash violence here. My personal staff, panchayat member and local DYFI workers were attacked, he added.
Four BJP workers were injured in a conflict between the CPM and BJP in the morning. Later, a four-member gang arrived in a car beat up CPM workers and escaped. Following this, party workers destroyed the car. The police who arrived at the place used force to disburse the public.
