CK Janu asked for Rs 10 cr; K Surendran gave Rs 10 lakh, confirms JRP treasurer
Kannur: Janadhipathya Rashtriya Party (JRP) leader CK Janu demanded Rs 10 crore for contesting the assembly polls as NDA candidate, revealed JRP treasurer Praseetha.
Janu asked for Rs 10 crore, five assembly seats for party and a union minister post. However, K Surendran did not agree with this in the discussion held in Kottayam. Following this, Janu asked for Rs 10 lakh citing financial issues, Praseetha said.
Earlier, Mathrubhumi News had disclosed a recorded phone conversation between Praseetha and BJP state president K Surendran.
In the audio clip, Praseetha could be heard telling Surendran that CK Janu agreed to contest the polls if Rs 10 lakh is given. Surendran agreed to hand over the amount. Praseetha confirmed that this audio clip was genuine and she talked with K Surendran.
K Surendran handed over Rs 10 lakh to Janu in Thiruvnanathapuram before Amit Shah's event began. Praseetha said that Surendran had called her on that day asking in which hotel Janu was staying.
Kodakara black money had put BJP on the defensive and the controversy related to CK Janu case has intensified the allegations. It is reported that the election fund of CK Janu was raised using the black money.
