Citing fund shortage, KSRTC delays salary for employees
Thiruvananthapuram: Citing insufficient funds, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has delayed the distribution of salary this month. It would require Rs 80 crores to settle the salary of its employees. However, the amount allocated in the budget has been consumed and is not sufficient.
It is learnt that the salary distribution will only take place if government allocates grant. The concerned officials hope, by September 13 salary can be distributed.
At present, only 2,500 KSRTC buses are plying. Notably, the revenue from these services is not sufficient to meet the salary expenditure. Similarly, programmes devised to generate more money are dormant due to various factors.
