Thiruvananthapuram: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has requested Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to drop plans to implement another lockdown across the state due to COVID-19. CII chairman Thomas John Muthoot has sent a letter to the Chief Minister inviting his attention to the negative impact on industries from the 90-day lockdown and COVID-19 outbreak.
“COVID-19 and 90 days long lockdown shattered the industrial sector as well as the public life. In this situation, restrictions should be imposed only on containment zones of COVID-19 and people should be permitted to lead a normal life in other regions,” requested CII in the letter.
