CIAL Managing Director S Suhas receiving award from Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia
Nedumbassery: Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) won Covid Champion Award at ‘Wings India 2022’, which is the biggest business conference in the aviation sector of Asia. CIAL Managing Director S Suhas received the award from the Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The conference was held at Begumpet airport in Hyderabad and was organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The project ‘Mission Safeguarding’ launched by CIAL to ensure safe travelling of passengers during Covid times made the airport meritorious for the award. The airport assured untroubled passenger movement at terminals by following a 5R rule- Recognise, Respond, Repeat, Record and Refer. Comprehensive Covid testing facilities, medical observations, follow-up planning projects to facilitate hassle-free transport were also arranged at the airport.
In 2021, CIAL managed 4.3 million passengers and became the third largest airport in the category of international transport.
