Chipsan Aviation offers 3 helicopters at lower rate for Kerala Police
Thiruvananthapuram: The Chipsan Aviation Helicopter Services has offered helicopters for the state government at a lower rate. According to their offer, three helicopters can be rented for Rs 1.44 crore for 20 hours. The offer was put forward when the home department is planning to make an agreement with Pawan Hans Helicopter Service which offered only one helicopter at the same rate.
Delhi-headquartered Chipsan Aviation is owned by Keralites. Chipsan offered three helicopters at a rent of Rs 1.44 crore in three regions. Chipsan Aviation has made agreement with various state governments and has also offered free service in Kerala during the flood havoc.

The order issued by the home department notes that helicopter is essential to tackle the Left Extremist groups present in the forests of Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts and also for emergency use when natural calamities strike.
It is learnt that the agreement with Pawan Hans will be signed this month. The decision to rent the helicopter was taken after several discussions held under the leadership of the chief secretary.
AS365 Dauphin N3, a medium-weight multipurpose twin-engine helicopter, will be hired from the company. It is suitable for VIP rides. Rs 1.45 will be charged per month for 20 hours. If the use exceeds 20 hours, Rs 67,926 should be paid for every extra hour.
