Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI has almost confirmed ministerial berths to J Chinchu Rani, P Prasad and K Rajan and the name of the fourth minister will be known today.

P S Supal, G S Jayalal and E Chandrasekharan have been ministers three times. As per the CPI rules, all the three and E K Vijayan cannot contest for ministership post but only one among them will become minister.

Chinchu Rani and K Rajan will be entering the Cabinet as they belong to Kollam and Thrissur which is the stronghold of the party. Chinchu Rani, Rajan and P Prasad are party executive committee members. Besides, Chinchu Rani and E Chandrashekaran are national council members too. Hence the name of Chandrashekaran figures in the 4th minister list.

The name of Chittayam Gopakumar is also being shortlisted for the deputy speaker post and it is the third time for him. If the party decides to select a new face, Idukki distrct secretary and trade union leader Vazhoor Soman would get a chance.
