Kochi: The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has ordered Child Protection Officer concerned to find and surrender the child, who has been illegally adopted by Thrippunithura couple. The move comes after CWC’s finding that the couple attained a fake birth certificate for the child to get through adoption formalities.
The birth certificate was issued by Kalamassery Medical College and fingers were pointed at administrative assistant A Anilkumar among others who allegedly forged the document. There will be action against those who have hands in it, said reports.
Meanwhile, the couple is reportedly on the run and police have launched a manhunt. CWC is in its pursuit to identify the original parents of the child. The child is six months old.
