Pala: In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old child was killed after the wall of an old building collapsed on him here. The boy is identified as Paulwin, son of Binz and Rosily from Ullanad.
The old building that was used to keep firewood was decayed. The children were playing around it when the accident took place.
The children were playing near the building on Saturday by 10.45 am and its wall collapsed suddenly. Paulwin's brothers Aswin and Edwin had a narrow escape from the mishap.
The neighbours rushed to the spot when they heard cries of the children. The boy was taken to a private hospital in Pala initially and was shifted to Kottayam medical college later. But his life could not be saved.
