Chief Secretary is not above government; CPI slams Tom Jose

Tom Jose had written an article in an English daily supporting the police action that resulted in the death of four Maoists.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI has come down heavily on Kerala Chief Secretary Tom Jose for taking a stance favouring the police action against Maoists in Attappadi. CPI Assistant Secretary K Prakash Babu responded that Chief Secretary’s article that appeared in a national newspaper was against law.

Tom Jose had written an article in an English daily supporting police action that resulted in the death of four Maoists.

While the Assembly session is on, he shouldn’t have written such an article. It is against law. A Chief Secretary should never do such things. He has no right to say such things. Don’t we have a democratic government? CPI leaders asked.

Meanwhile, the report prepared by CPI leaders after visiting the Manjakandi forests where the police – Maoist encounter took place, was handed over to Chief Minister.

CPI leaders responded that CM has assured them that he will look into the report.
