Chief Minister, Sivasankar tried to sell Smart City land, alleges K Surendran
Kozhikode: BJP state chief K Surendran alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and former Principal Secretary, M Sivasankar, tried to sell the plot that was given to Smart City on lease. He alleged that they tried to sell 30 acres of land out of the 250 acres that was given on lease for Re 1.
KPMG was entrusted with determining the cost of the land. The land was handed over to Smart City claiming that it would provide employment to 90,000 people. Here only 4,000 people are working both directly and indirectly. The land was decided to be sold to a company of Chief Minister’s interest without even holding tender procedures.
Swapna Suresh and gang were involved in the Hash Future programme, where people from foreign countries also took part, held on March 22, 23 at Kochi Le Meridian. The nexus of the gold smuggling gang with this event is very evident. Swapna Suresh is also involved in the decision to sell Smart City’s land through real estate.
K Surendran also alleged that the claim about CCTVs in the secretariat being destroyed by lightning is not true. There was no such lightning in the month of May. A notice regarding this was released on July 13 intentionally. Who was it that inspected the CCTVs when the city was under triple lockdown? What really happened there?, he asked.
Swapna Suresh and gang visited the offices of the Chief Minister and M Sivasankar. The CCTVs were destroyed in order to cover this up. This is the same thing that happened during the tenure of Oommen Chandy.
Why did NIA interrogate the officer in charge of housekeeping at the secretariat for two and half hours? The government said that they are willing to hand over the CCTVs. Then why was the Additional secretary interrogated for something that could have been done in half an hour through a request to the Chief Secretary, K Surendran asked during the press meet.
