Kannur: Police have recovered a suicide note in connection with the death of a five-member family at a house in Cherupuzha on Wednesday morning.

Cherupuzha native Shaji, his wife Sreeja, and children Sooraj (10), Surabhi (8), and Sujin (12) were found dead inside the house in the wee hours.

According to police, the couple, who married a few days back, killed the children before hanging themselves. The children are from Sreeja's first marriage. Shaji, having a wife and two children, married Sreeja on May 16. Police suspect that family issues might have led to suicide.

The family was found dead inside when they failed to respond to the neighbours on Wednesday morning.
