Chennithala slams BJP over Yogi Adityanath’s ‘virus’ remark
Kochi: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala raised a sharp criticism against BJP and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath over his statement against Muslim League. He stated that BJP’s move against Muslim League is a dangerous one. He was addressing a press meet here on Saturday.
“By addressing a party recognised by Election Commission of India as ‘Virus’, Yogi Adityanath has violated the model code of conduct. The Election Commission should take immediate action against him,” said Chennithala.
“I think BJP is the real virus that affected India. BJP and RSS are two sides of the same coin. They are vowed to create communal tension in the society,” he added.
The Congress leader also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his statement on Rahul Gandhi’s candidature from Wayanad.
“Modi said Rahul is contesting from Wayanad as he is afraid of Hindus. In Wayanad, 52 percent of people belong to Hindu community. People are living here with communal harmony. But BJP is insulting them over caste and religion,” he condemned.
Meanwhile, the opposition leader noted that the Amicus curiae report on flood justified the allegations raised by opposition.
“The Amicus Curiae report revealed lapses in dam management by the government. The court has appointed the Amicus Curiae to probe on the flood. But the Chief Minister and his cabinet dismissed the report of Amicus Curiae without reading it,” said Chennithala.
The High Court appointed the Amicus Curiae to probe on flood after 20 people including Ramesh Chennithala moved a petition.
He pointed out that Amicus Curiae also demanded a judicial inquiry over flood.
The congress leader added that the chief minister is afraid of judicial inquiry.
