Chennithala seeks inquiry into Finance Minister’s involvement in treasury fraud
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala forwarded a letter to the Vigilance Director seeking an inquiry into all treasury fraud cases after LDF came into power.
“During the LDF reign, money was looted from various treasuries at many times. But the government tried to protect the culprits and settle the cases favouring the party’s interest,” alleged Chennithala in the letter.
“Involvement of Finance Minister Thomas Isaac and treasury director in these cases also should be investigated,” demanded the opposition leader.
Citing the Vanchiyoor treasury fraud case as an example for the financial scams in treasuries, he sought detailed probe into similar cases.
“It is alleged that an official who has been assigned to probe on the financial fraud in Vanchiyoor treasury by the finance department, was involved in a similar financial fraudulence. In this background, a detailed probe on money swindling incidents in various treasuries, flood relief fund scam and other financial fraudulences should be carried out,” Chennithala demanded in his letter.
