Chennithala questions govt sending an official to Justice Sivarajan’s residence
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday expressed doubt over the government sending an official to the residence of Justice Sivarajan, who headed the Judicial Commission that probed the solar scam.
Speaking at the special session convened today to table the solar commission report, Chennithala alleged that an official was sent to Justice Sivarajan’s residence after the report was handed over to the Chief Minister.
The opposition leader raised the question immediately after the CM urged the Speaker to remove a paragraph from the report.
“Why an official was sent to Justice Sivarajan’s residence? Why corrections were made to the report? The report was prepared in haste,” Chennithala said in the Assembly.
He said registering case against a leader like Oommen Chandy, who has nearly 50 years of legislative experience, in a sexual assault allegation cannot be accepted. He said the party will counter the charges legally. “If the government tries to use the report to take political vengeance, we will hit back strongly,” Chennithala added.
He also criticised the press conference of the Chief Minister on October 17 in which he explained the contents of the report before tabling it in the Assembly. However, replying to Chennithala, the CM said he had never disclosed any matters related to the Solar Commission report.
