Malappuram: Malappuram First Class Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday granted bail to VP Nazreth, wife of a senior police officer, who was taken into custody based on several complaints of cheating registered against her. She was granted bail after paying a bail bond of around Rs 2.5 lakh.
Nazreth is the wife of DySP KA Suresh of Cooperative Vigilance, Thrissur. There are around nine cases registered against her along with allegations that she took money from various people after assuring jobs in the railways. The cases are registered in Malappuram, Thrissur, Kollam and Palakkad.
Nazreth, was taken into custody from her residence in Thrissur district and brought to Malappuram, the other day. The arrest was recorded on the basis of a complaint lodged by a Malappuram native who alleged that the accused swindled Rs 4,85,000 from her. She was arrested by Malappuram CI Joby Thomas and team.
As word spread about Nazreth’s arrest, more people have reportedly approached the Malappuram police to lodge complaints. Further investigation is underway.
