Cheating case against Kamaruddin: Consensus attempts allegedly in crisis
Kasaragod: According to reports, Muslim League state leadership's attempt to reach a consensus in the jewellery cheating case including Manjeswaram MLA MC Kamaruddin, is in crisis. Party district treasurer Maheen Kalladra said that an investors meet can’t be called without obtaining the details about real assets.
The party leadership has asked Maheen Kalladra to furnish the details of the assets and liabilities of Fashion Gold International within 15 days. Following this, he has asked Kamaruddin and party district committee member and managing director of the jewellery, P K Pookkoya Thangal to reveal details in this regard.
“If any details on assets is obtained, talks with investors will be initiated. However, noting in this regard is obtained yet,” Kalladra said. Thangal is of the stance that he has no assets. Also attempts to sabotage the case is suspected following the allegations of manhandling raised the other day.
No written complaint was lodged by the concerned people though they claim that the gold was lost from the jewellery. It is mysterious that the assets of Payyannur branch was transferred in the names of action committee members. Also, Thangal transferring his assets to close relatives has raised suspicions.
It is evaluated that the jewellery or the directors have the assets to return the investments made. Also, it is alleged that the firm has a liability of over Rs 1.5 crore in terms of GST.
