Charred remains of man found under mysterious conditions in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: The charred remaining of a man was found in the compound of a house in Peroorkada on Saturday morning. The body belongs to Ajaykumar (66), a native of Vazhayila in Thiruvananthapuram.

The body was found decaying, half-burnt and was older than two days. Police suspect that the man was murdered based on initial examination. Further, the vegetation found beside the body in a burnt condition does not belong to the place.

The body was found by locals, who cleared growth in the compound after experiencing a foul smell. It is suspected that the body was dumped here after setting it on fire someplace else.

The deceased was a former ward member elected with the support of Congress. He was staying with his daughter due to some family issues. It is learned that he was missing for the last four days.
